Lorenzo Felder from Baltimore, Maryland, served with the 51st Defense Battalion in the South Pacific during World War II. Discharged after the war, he completed college and entered law school, only to be recalled to active duty during the Korean War. A stroke of luck gave him a duty assignment in Germany, rather than Korea. After the Korean War, Felder returned to the Baltimore area, where he resided until his death in 2006.
